TBC Distribution, a New South Wales based supplier of cleaning and hygiene solutions, is set to expand nationally with the launch of a new dust suppression solution designed for the mining industry.
Details of the new product being manufactured under its own brand name are being kept under wraps until the official launch on Thursday 10 October.
Managing Director Shane Leigh said after supplying cleaning and hygiene solutions to local mine sites for many years he saw a gap in the market.
“Our job is not to supply products; it is to provide solutions that reduce the risk of worker injury. We’re here to help our customers ensure safety compliance,” Mr Leigh said.
“I could see that working with a bulky 1,000 litre intermediate bulk container (IBC) wasn’t ideal. A forklift was required to transport it and there was always a risk of an accidental puncture and hence a chemical spill.”
“Our product is a concentrated solid block that weights no more than 600g. It’s safe and easy to handle. And because a forklift is not required, the crew can get to work faster.”
The new product has been independently trialled at both the Dendrobium and Appin Mine sites in NSW for the past eight months. It has proved to be more effective than other products on the market as well as a hit with workers thanks to the lightweight design.
The product is also undergoing trials at Cadia Mine in Orange and several mine sites located in Central Queensland.
Due to the trial success, TBC Distribution is launching the new dust suppression solution nationally to offer the product to the entire mining industry as well as other sectors including oil and gas, civil construction, city councils, railroad, military and more.
“We are excited to take this new product beyond our region and onto a national and potentially international scale,” Mr Leigh said.
Mr Leigh said the feedback from the mining industry has been fantastic and they are starting to attract interest from other sectors.
The launch of TBC Distribution’s new dust suppression solution is Thursday 10 October, 1.30pm at The Fraternity Club in Fairy Meadow NSW. It is a trade only event for mine managers, site superintendents, HSE managers, and operation managers.
